Chris Jericho Alleges Brock Lesnar Used Homophobic Slurs Against Him In 2016 Confrontation
Chris Jericho speaks on an infamous confrontation backstage at SummerSlam 2016.
In a career with a litany of brutality, Brock Lesnar has to go to certain extremes at times to remind fans how dangerous of a combat sports athlete he is. While he has used much he learned in his brief foray into mixed martial arts, he has also rarely used the more brutal side of martial arts grappling.
At SummerSlam 2016, Lesnar would wrestle Randy Orton at the event. Towards the end of their match, Lesnar would start cracking Randy Orton with stiff elbows to the forehead, opening Randy up with the slashing strikes. This would lead to a TKO win for Brock, who would go to the back following an F5 to Shane McMahon.
When he made it back to gorilla position, Chris Jericho was waiting for him. While speaking on the True Geordie podcast, Chris Jericho recalled his backstage confrontation with Lesnar. Jericho then claimed that Lesnar used homophobic slurs that would have gotten him canceled in this day and age.
“I was in Gorilla [Position] and I was f*cking angry about it and Brock [Lesnar] came through, and he saw me angry about it and decided he wanted to challenge me. And we got into a little bit of an issue, but I was like, ‘F*ck this guy, I don’t give a sh*t how big he is. I don’t f*cking care. It’s wrong.’ I will fight to the death, I will stand up to what I believe in till death.”
“I remember being literally nose-to-nose with the guy [Lesnar], and he was laughing – and he was actually saying things that would probably get him canceled if I said them, like homophobic terms you shouldn’t be saying.”Chris Jericho on The True Geordie Podcast
