Jordynne Grace Speaks On Her Championship Reign, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, Jade Cargill And More

Jordynne Grace is the current IMPACT Knockout’s Champion.

Recently, Jordynne sat down with The Angle Podcast where she spoke about a number of topics including dream opponents, social media and more. Jordynne is the current Knockout’s Champion, but this isn’t her first time winning the title. She had the championship during the pandemic when fans weren’t around and she felt like she didn’t get the full experience. She had this to say;

When the fans weren’t there, it was so hard to wrestle. I really didn’t get the full champion experience my go-around, so I’m really happy to finally feel the real energy. I didn’t get to defend the title. I wasn’t on these media tours; I was sitting at home most of the time. I probably defended the title a total of 3 times before I lost it. I was a very forgetful run.

Recently, Jordynne has been in the news due to some social media posts, she believes the use of social media in wrestling can be hit or miss.

It can be a hit or miss for wrestlers. You can either have people love you have people hate you depending on what you put out there, haha. You do have a different connection to fans. We’re really just a tweet away at this point. There’s so many opportunities now not just with regular social media, but there’s also things like Twitch, Patreon, websites that are subscription based that are just opportunities for wrestlers to basically make more money and make more of a living.

Speaking about opportunities, Grace also talked about IMPACT giving their women more opportunities, such as being in the first queen of the mountain match or even main eventing IMPACT TV, like this week.

The Queen of the Mountain match, there were 12 matches before, and they all had men in them, and this was our first time. I feel like they (IMPACT) are giving us more opportunities and trusting us more as time goes on. The Knockout’s work harder than anyone else in the industry.

Women have been taking over the wrestling world in many different promotions, but with the Forbidden Door craze going around, we haven’t seen many women step through said door. Jordynne gave her answer for who she’d like to battle outside of IMPACT if she got the chance.

I’ll start with WWE. Someone who I think has made an incredible transformation since she really first gena wrestling to now is Rhea Ripley. I think it’s been a complete night and day transformation. I really admire her because she went from kind of looking like a Barbie doll to looking like this real bad b*tch. She’s awesome. On the flip side, in AEW, I’d really like to wrestle Jade Cargill. We have trained together in the past and I know she hasn’t been wrestling for very long, but she is hungry and determined to prove that she can go.

Lots of wrestlers are showing up in different companies right now, but there’s still tons of free agents on the market. When asked about what free agent Jordynne would like to see come to IMPACT, she had a fantastic answer.

This is such a hard question because AEW signed a lot of people, haha. Someone that would be awesome to wrestle is Dakota Kai. I don’t think she got her full due at WWE and I think that IMPACT would be a really great place for her to go. She has a very unique look and wrestling style. She personifies the Knockout’s Division.

Jordynne also spoke about one other wish she had, to become a IMPACT GrandSlam Champion, and that does include the men’s championships.

I want to be the very first person in IMPACT Wrestling to hold all the titles, so I have 3 left to go.
