NJPW President Wants To Bring Forbidden Door To Japan

It’s NJPW’s turn to be the home team at a Forbidden Door event.

This past weekend AEW and NJPW fans saw a spectacle like nothing we’ve seen before as the two companies would come together to bring one of the best PPVs in recent years in professional wrestling. The card is projected to have well over 100,000 PPV buys and despite many injuries, it was a resounding success.

NJPW President Takhami Ohbari told Tokyo Sports that he hopes to see another Forbidden Door event, this time in Japan.

“In my opinion, there are some wrestlers who were unable to come (to the U.S.) at the last minute. There are still wrestlers and matches I would like to see. I would like to see a continuation of this event,”

“I think there is a need to see this event in Japan. The 50th anniversary year is a good opportunity to make it happen. I think there are some (AEW wrestlers) who would like to compete in front of Japanese fans.”

Time will tell if Ohbari will get his wish, but Tony Khan has already hinted at the possibility of going to Japan for a similar event that we witnessed Sunday evening.
