Jon Moxley Compares His First AEW Championship Win To His Second

Jon Moxley became the Interim AEW World Champion at Forbidden Door after defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Jon went on to speak at the post-show media scrum where he was asked how his first title win against Jericho, coincidentally which was also in Chicago, feels compared to his second title win against Tanahashi. Moxley had this to say.

Life is crazy, man, every time you think like, you know, just in general, you think like the worst thing in the world happened and then it turns out to be like, years later you look back on it and say “oh, that’s a blessing in disguise” or, the best thing in the world happens or you think this is a big deal, you know, like you with some, you’re in some relationship you think you’re gonna be together forever, turns out, like, that was f-king five girlfriends before you actually met the one you’re gonna be together with or something like that, uh, meaning like uh, I thought it was a pretty cool deal last time I won a championship against Chris Jericho, actually in Chicago too, I thought it seemed at the time like a, kind of a end to a particular road or particular story but it was just the end of a very particular chapter that was like, a bunch of chapters ago, and this feels like the end of a particular journey that I didn’t even realize I was on. You know, I thought there was a[…], so it’s just another end to another chapter, but it feels like, this feels pretty good man, because the other time it was like “oh, okay I’m pretty hot and the fans are pretty with me and, you know, we’re going with this and here’s, you’re gonna win the belt, that’s pretty cool”. You know, that always feels nice. This feels like a whole, this feels like I f-king scratched and clawed and f-king fought and not just in the wrestling ring, but in a lot of other areas of life and this truly does feel like three years of f-king work and in the ring, outside of the ring and a bunch of different ways and a bunch of different areas that all seem like somehow it all led up to this, that we didn’t even see coming f-king three weeks ago or some shit, I don’t even know if i was on the f-king card, you know, and now I’m in the main event. […] to answer your question, pretty f-king cool night.

To think Jon Moxley didn’t even had a match three weeks ago, to now being world champion, just goes to show that anything can happen in Pro-Wrestling.
