Paul Wight Reveals He Didn’t Want The Responsibility Of Being World Champion

Paul Wight, also known as The Big Show, was a former six-time World Champion spanning across WWE & WCW. But, he didn’t think it should’ve went down that way.

Paul Wight, now in AEW, sat down with Submission Radio and confessed how he felt about being World Champion.

I’m not a guy that ever should’ve had a title like that, a heavyweight title. It’s the tough thing about being a champion is all that responsibility is on your head, and I never wanted that much responsibility. I never wanted to run the whole boat.

Paul doesn’t have to worry about being World Champion any time soon though, as he works with AEW under a commentary role for AEW Dark Elevation. Paul also spoke about AEW and tells Submission Radio what he loves about the company.

One of the things that I love about AEW is there’s not a writing staff of 15, 20 writers, when the talent has a promo, that promo comes from the talent, you know? So there’s not as much hands-on, molding, presentation and packaging. A lot of AEW is very raw

Paul Wight seems to be enjoying his time in AEW doing commentary and very limited matches, as he’s wrestled a total of four times under the AEW umbrella.
