Tony Khan Explains Why He Created The All-Atlantic Championship

We now know why the All-Atlantic Championship was created.

At Forbidden Door, the All-Atlantic Championship will be decided in a fatal four way match for the title. PAC has already qualified for the match with Ethan Page facing Miro on tonight’s Dynamite to see who will be the second one to qualify for the match.

While speaking with Comic Book, AEW President Tony Khan justified the reasoning for the new title as he explained why the title needed to be made in the first place.

“…So for the international fans and for the international wrestlers on the roster, I felt like it would create more opportunities. But I also don’t think this title or these opportunities are exclusive to the international wrestlers. But it’s a big benefit of the term.”

Of course, it sounds like Tony views the title in a similar vein to what the WWE Intercontinental Championship started out being. Time will tell if this championship will be successful, but for now it looks like it will lead to some incredible matchups.
