Butterbean Coming Out of Retirement to Challenge Jake Paul

One year from now we could be talking about a boxing bout between YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul and the living legend Butterbean.

Eric Esch, who many fight fans know under the nickname Butterbean is making claims that he is making a boxing comeback after 9 years away from the sport. He wasted no time in naming who he wanted to fight and that’ll be Jake Paul who has made a name for himself from social media, boxing celebrities + and MMA fighters.

After spending some time living and training with Diamond Dallas Page + sticking to the DDP Yoga program, Butterbean said the following:

“I’m at fight weight. You’ll have to listen to my podcast coming up to find exactly how much weight I have lost, but I haven’t weighed this in over 20 years so that’ll give you an idea. The big announcement is I’m gonna fight one last fight. It’s gonna be one year from now. Jake Paul, if you’re ready, I’m here for you, my friend. Let’s get it on, me and you Jake Paul. I bet it would be an awesome fight. After you said what you said about me in the magazine, I’m ready to fight you. Are you ready? I don’t think so.”

Butterbean’s last fight was in 2013 when he lost to Kirk Lawton in the 2nd round of a 4-round fight by KO, the last time Butterbean won a boxing bout was in 2007 against Joe Siciliano.

Butterbean’s current record is 77-10 with 58 knockouts and 19 decisions, he has only been finished twice in his career and is looking to add 1 more KO win to his record before he officially hangs up the gloves.

Jake Paul last fight was when he he knocked out Tyron Woodley on December 18th, 2021. The 25 year old social media star is expected to fight on August 13th of this year but an opponent hasn’t been announced yet.

It’s a reach to expect Paul to fight Butterbean in August, the two could meet in the near-future but it is something that sparks the debate of who would win.

Paul has been linked to fighting Tommy Fury ( brother of Tyson Fury) and if Butterbean isn’t the one to give Paul his first pro boxing loss, it could be the younger brother of Tyson’s that gives boxing fans what they’ve been asking for.
