AEW Fight Forever Details: Roster Size, Omega’s Involvement And More

On Wednesday morning, we got our first look at video footage of gameplay for the new AEW game, Fight Forever.

Evil Uno, Adam Cole, Kris Statlander and Aubrey were there to witness the footage along with fans. The new footage showcased footage of Kris Statlander and Nyla Rose while also confirming Aubrey as a character in the game.

On Tuesday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select released new details on the game, including how involved Kenny Omega has been during his time off:

Several people that have done work with the game have said it was a very happy accident that Kenny Omega needed time off from the ring during the home stretch of the game being produced. We’ve heard Omega has gone above and beyond and stretched far to make sure he can be of help in any way possible to the game, and the time off from the ring has helped provide that. We’ve also been told that AEW music producer Mikey Rukus had to put in a ton of work for the game.

The report continues to explain how pivotal Omega has been to the development and production of AEW Fight Forever:

Omega was a huge part in getting Hideyuki “Geta” Iwashita onboard, who was the director of WWF No Mercy. We’re told those involved that the push to get Geta was a very smart one, and that his contributions have been valuable.

Fightful also reported that sources have told them the current roster size, as well as confirming several notable names, referring to our exclusive regarding Owen Hart appearing in game:

We have been told the roster size sits at around 50 and that there will be some unfortunate notable omissions in the first release of the game. Bodyslam.net today revealed that Owen Hart is planned for the game. Other notable confirmed names include Sting, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole and Ruby Soho.

Finally, Sapp finishes his report with some development details:

We’ve been told there’s still a lot of work to be done on polishing the game up, especially character models. The has been DLC pitched and discussed, but we don’t have it confirmed as of yet. There’s a lot of online work t be done still, which is common at this stage for a game.

Though not officially announced, we’ve heard THQ Nordic is involved, but have also been told their involvement to this point has been minimal.
