Since her release from the WWE, Athena (FKA Ember Moon) has been quietly putting in bangers with Warrior Wrestling, having challenged Thunder Rosa for the Women’s Championship previously, wrestling the current AEW Champion to a time limit draw. However, at Warrior Wrestling 21 Saturday, Athena defeated Skye Blue and Shazza McKenzie to become the Warrior’s Women’s Champion.
Since returning to the ring in February, Athena has made a home for herself in Warrior’s Wrestling, despite fan interest in the possibility of her signing with AEW or Stardom. Athena also recently has a cross-gender match, losing to Swerve Strickland at Revolver Swerve’s House last week. Time will tell if Athena will end up in AEW or otherwise, but for now she is the Warrior’s Wrestling Women’s Champion.
