UFC Strawweight Champion “Thug Rose” Namajunas is looking towards a late summer return to the UFC to defend her title vs Carla Esparza, per Ariel Helwani. Also mentioned by Ariel is that Rose will look to fight twice in 2022.
Namajunas last time out defended her title vs Weili Zhang at UFC 268 last November, winning via Split Decision. Next up for Thug Rose is the aforementioned Carla Esparza, someone that will be all to familiar to Namajunas, being that they fought for the first time to decide the first Strawweight champion in the UFC. Esparza has been streaking as of late, currently riding a five fight win streak over names such as Marina Rodriguez, Xiaonan Yan and Michelle Waterson. Rose will be fired up to avenge her loss to Esparza, now just over seven years later, she will get that chance.
