Former lightweight champion and 29-0 fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov is set to be inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame Class of 2022. The Dagestan fighter was famous for his suffocating grappling and his feud with Irish superstar Conor McGregor. The news of Khabib’s induction was broken Saturday by the UFC prior to UFC 272.
“The Eagle” had 3 successful title defences as the lightweight king, knocking back Dustin Poirer, Justin Gaethje and the aforementioned Conor McGregor. Khabib retired following his defence vs Gaethje on Fight Island and the death of his father. Khabib remains a mainstay of the UFC, now a coach for fighters like Islam Makhachev and his relatives. At 29-0, retiring undefeated, that makes Khabib more than worthy of induction into the UFC Hall Of Fame.
