AEW May Have Already Signed Keith Lee

Last week the 90-day non-compete clauses for another batch of WWE releases came to an end.

The releases included names like Nia Jax, Scarlett Bordeaux, Karrion Kross, Mia Yim and probably one of the most shocking releases, Keith Lee. There is now a slight possibility we could be seeing Lee back in a wrestling ring very soon.

On Saturday AEW President Tony Khan announced that on this week’s episode of Dynamite, Isiah Kassidy would be taking on a mystery opponent. In a Tweet, Khan stated that the mystery opponent would be debuting and signing a contract with the company leaving many to guess who it could be. Many names like Karrion Kross, Jeff Hardy, and Nia Jax have been thrown around, But Dave Meltzer thinks it could be Lee.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Lee may have already signed his contract.

“They announced a big debut on Wednesday. So, I’d say that the favorite would be Keith Lee. Could be Athena. John Hennigan is another one. Of the people whose 90-day non-competes ended, those were the three that I thought were the most viable to sign [with AEW].I know they’ve been talking to Keith Lee. I know they were pretty close with Keith Lee if it’s not already a done deal. It probably is a done deal. I don’t know that officially, but that’s kind of been the word going around. Hennigan, you know what you got. I think with Athena, you know what you got, and actually, she would be good. Keith is an interesting one. I know what Keith was in 2018. And even toned down and told not to do what he’s good at in NXT, he did still get over. The main roster was a disaster.”

We will have to wait and see who ends up showing up on Dynamite. Stay with Bodyslam.net as we will have updates as they are made available.
