Mustafa Ali Said To Have “Well Over A Year, At Least” Left On His WWE Contract; Little, If Any Correspondence Between Both Sides

Mustafa Ali publicly requested his WWE release last month. However, WWE has denied his request and it looks like there are no plans for the company to release Ali from his contract.

It was previously reported that prior to his removal from WWE TV, there was a heated argument backstage between Ali and Vince McMahon over a pitched idea which was said to be something that Ali, “would never have done.” Ali has been absent from WWE programming ever since, and it doesn’t look like there are any plans creatively to bring him back.

According to a report from Fightful Select, WWE sources told them that the term “value” was used in the reasoning behind keeping Mustafa Ali under contract. Additionally, it was stated that there has been little, if any, correspondence between the two sides.

While no exact expiration date for Mustafa Ali’s contract is known, the report did state that Ali still “well over a year, at least” left on his WWE deal.

“Fightful learned via WWE sources that the term “value” was used in reasoning behind keeping Mustafa Ali under contract. He’s not been brought back to TV since an argument with Vince McMahon over creative direction. Despite those two things, as of now, we’re told there are no working plans in creative for Mustafa Ali, which could certainly change at any moment. We’re also told there is little correspondence, if any, between the two sides.”

“Beyond that, Fightful learned that Mustafa Ali still has “well over a year, at least” on his WWE deal, although we haven’t heard of a specific expiration date on the deal.”
