Brian Kendrick Set For AEW Dynamite Debut

Just moments after it was revealed by Fightful that Brian Kendrick is no longer contractually obligated to WWE, AEW has announced on social media that Kendrick will compete on tomorrow’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

Fightful had noted that Kendrick was “expected to be at the AEW Dynamite show in Chicago on Wednesday,” although they weren’t able to verify how fluid the story was at that time. During his most recent run with WWE, Kendrick had won the Cruiserweight Championship while primarily competing on 205 Live, although most recently he’s been a staple backstage. From his previous run, he’s a multi-time tag team champion with partner Paul London.

Per AEW’s social media team, Kendrick will go head-to-head with former AEW Champion Jon Moxley on TBS tomorrow night. Moxley has recently been feuding with Bryan Danielson, who came up with Kendrick. Danielson was once Brian Kendrick’s roommate when the two were training under Shawn Michaels in the late 1990s. The only time that Moxley and Kendrick have ever been in the same ring together was as partners at a 2010 Dragon Gate show where they defeated the aforementioned London and Jimmy Jacobs.

You can tune in to AEW Dynamite every Wednesday at 8PM EST on TBS.
