WWE Confirms WALTER’s Name Change

On last night’s episode of NXT 2.0, post-match against Roderick Strong WALTER announced that he would now be going by the new name Gunther. The announcement came in WALTER’s first appearance with NXT 2.0 since leaving NXT UK.

The name change came with much controversy as fans pointed out that when googled, the name Gunther Stark is shared with a former Nazi commander from World War II.

WWE has made the name change official. The WWE roster officially lists the former WALTER as Gunther. There is no last name listed so it looks like the company may have changed its mind on the full name.

Many fans expressed their displeasure with the name change on social media following the announcement.  Keith Lee even gave his opinion to his former employer for the choice.
