Peter Avalon is Now Accepting Independent Bookings

‘Pretty’ Peter Avalon made his AEW debut in at the 2019 Fight For the Fallen event as ‘The Librarian’ with Leva Bates. One of the original AEW signings, Avalon has since primarily been featured on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation, most recently as a member of the Wingmen with JD Drake, Cezar Bononi and ‘Hollywood Hunk’ Ryan Nemeth.

To say Avalon has been a top competitor for AEW would be a stretch, seeing as he lost his first 27 matches with the promotion and currently has a rolling-record of 8-43-2. However, Avalon has established a very fine track record of being one of the industry’s most entertaining characters. As the original AEW contracts begin to reach their expiration date, the status of certain wrestler’s will become more clear. Avalon is one of those wrestler’s, as he’s issued an update on his status.

An important thing to note about Avalon’s tweet is that he is accepting bookings for all dates, not just certain dates. One can conclude that this means that AEW isn’t asking for priority bookings. Of course, this is speculation. Despite Avalon not citing that AEW takes priority, Avalon may have set the precedent this past Saturday as he was pulled from Zicky Dice’s Outlandish Paradise to work the Dark tapings at the Universal Studios Soundstage. Avalon, as noted by his former tag team partner, is still under AEW contract.

Reports have been rampant that AEW is opting to let certain contracts expire without renewal as their roster has taken form over the last three years. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that certain talents remain with the company while taking independent dates, as competitors from every level of the card have been working independents. Jon Moxley, for example, is the current GCW World Heavyweight Champion while Max Caster of the Acclaimed worked for Beyond Wrestling throughout 2021 and as recently as this past week competed for AIW.

Avalon will be accepting bookings from [email protected]. The first booking back on the independents for Avalon seems to be Lucha Va Voom in February.
