News Out Of IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard To Kill And Today’s TV Tapings

IMPACT Wrestling coming off a serious high and rave reviews from their “Hard to Kill” PPV last night will tape TV today in Dallas, Texas at “The Factory.”

According to PWInsider, IMPACT Wrestling is said to be very thrilled with the announcement that Knockouts Women’s World Champion Mickie James will be appearing at the WWE Royal Rumble in St. Louis on January 29th. The company feels that announcement made by WWE on Friday Night Smackdown led to additional interest and PPV buys last night.

Someone who was getting a ton of praise and love from backstage and the IMPACT Wrestling fans was Tom Hannifan. Tom made his IMPACT Wrestling debut last night and called the PPV with a lot of passion and conviction almost like he’d been part of the organization for a long period of time. Hannifan and D’Lo Brown played exceptionally well of each other.

One of the matches on today’s taping will include Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion RoK-C against Deonna Purrazzo. Rok-C was shown sitting in the front row at last night’s “Hard to Kill” PPV, intently focused on the Main Event between Purrazzo and James.

The appearance of the “Ring of Honor Invasion angle” was received well and it seems that Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, PCO and Vincent to be at today’s taping.  PCO left Ring of Honor in November 2021 while the contracts of the others expired on December 31st. Technically, none of these men are signed currently to Ring of Honor contracts which makes this situation very awesome and exciting. As far as Maria Kanellis-Bennett’s ROH contract, not much is known. But it’s pretty much a given that she will be at the taping this evening as well.

The Knockouts Tag Team Championship match between The IInspiration vs. Influence will take place at the forthcoming Fort Lauderdale TV tapings since it didn’t take place at last nights “Hard To Kill” and will not be featured at tonights TV taping.

One more fun thing of note: Last night at “Hard To Kill” was the first time IMPACT the Knockouts Championship closed an Impact/TNA PPV in 15 years. The last time this happened was during the creation of the championship itself at “Bound for Glory” in 2007.

IMPACT’s next PPV (beyond IMPACT+ specials) will be the 4/23 Rebellion PPV at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
