Brett Lauderdale Gives Update On Jon Moxley And GCW Title

In early November, AEW president Tony Khan announced that former AEW World Champion and Current GCW Champion Jon Moxley would be entering an inpatient rehab center to address some issues with alcohol abuse.

This came as a shock to many but, Moxley was inundated with nothing but support and love from friends and fans.

A few months before entering rehab, Jon Moxley had defeated Matt Cardona to capture the GCW Championship. Since the announcement of Moxley’s treatment for alcohol abuse, fans have questioned whether the title would be vacated. But it has now been confirmed by GCW owner Brett Lauderdale that Moxley will in fact remain the champion until he is defeated for the title. He will not be stripped of the belt while undergoing treatment.

Yesterday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fighful.com sent out a tweet stating that he had spoken with Brett Lauderdale and he made it known where he stands on the situation.

Brett Lauderdale says Jon Moxley will remain GCW Champion until he loses it, when asked an update on the title and Mox’s status

There is no estimated timetable for Moxley’s return but it looks like we could be seeing the star back in a wrestling ring sooner than later.

Moxley has been spotted out in public post-rehab, as fans have posted photos with him.
