Multi-time WWE Champion Seth Rollins was tackled by a fan before putting the fan in a headlock live on Monday’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Following a segment with Finn Balor, Seth was heading up the stage to go to the back as a fan attacked him, sprinting and trying to take him down head on. The camera immediately cut back to Finn Balor in the ring, who was still selling the previous assault from Rollins.
Fans at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn caught the altercation on their phones, with an array of footage from multiple different angles. As the referees separated Rollins and the fans, Rollins walked to road agent James Yun, who wrestled in WWE as Akio and Jimmy Wang Yang, Standing at the top of the stage was WWE Hall of Famer Michael Hayes, also a road agent.
The Barclays Center is notorious for fans intervening, with the most recognizable example coming during the Hart Foundation Hall of Fame induction in 2019. With tonight’s incident, some former professional wrestler’s have weighed in with some fascinating stances on the subject, such as former ECW World Champion Chavo Guerrero.
Meanwhile, former Intercontinental Champion Lance Storm also tweeted his displeasure, but regarding WWE’s security staff who didn’t seem to be in much of a rush to get the fan under control. Both stances seem to be in agreement that the fan didn’t get everything that he had coming to him.
