Mark Henry Says Vince McMahon Told Him ‘WWE would Come Looking For Him In Three Years’

On May 30 The world’s strongest man Mark Henery made a surprising debut For AEW. This was a surprise as many called Henery a WWE lifer. Well obviously that wasn’t the case, Henery was announced as a commentator for the then-upcoming debut of the new Rampage show and now Henery is letting fans into a conversation himself and Vince McMahon had before his departure from the WWE.

Henry recently talked about the discussion he had with Vince McMahon when he informed The Chairman Of The Board about his intentions to become All Elite. Henery spoke candidly on the latest edition of the Busted Open Radio podcast. Henry told McMahon he was sick of waiting for new opportunities in the company.

“I was like, ‘Vince, I’m tired of waiting, I’m gonna take this job. I want to get experience, and I want to prove to you and everybody else that I can do this.’ And he said, ‘You know what, Mark, I believe you will, and I’m sure we’ll come looking for you in three years.’”

It was recently announced that Ricky Starks would be Mark Henry’s permanent replacement on AEW Rampage. While Henry has still been seen on tv it is unknown what else he will be doing for the company, maybe we will see him competing again soon as he has stated on numerous occasions his desire to get back in the ring.
