Mick Foley Compares Jon Moxley And Nick Gage To Himself and Terry Funk

Since debuting for AEW Jon Moxley has secured himself as a top talent for the company. Moxley is known for his hardcore ruff rugged style of wrestling and this goes back to his days on the deathmatch wrestling scene.

During his time in CZW a promotion with the reputation of having some of the most gruesome and bloody matches, Moxley feuded with the likes of Nick Gage, a man who until recently was not known to mainstream fans. Most Fans first got a taste of Gage during Chris Jericho’s and MJF’s recent feud where Gage was announced as one of the 5 laborers of Jericho.

Earlier this month, Jon Moxley defended the GCW World Championship against Nick Gage in a deathmatch and Hardcore legend Mick Foley was in attendance for the match and has some strong feelings towards Moxley and Gage.

While speaking with Metro, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley gave massive props to Jon Moxley and Nick Gage for their intense rivalry. In fact, Mick Foley went as far as to say Moxley and Gage are the successors to himself and pro wrestling legend Terry Funk.

“Who am I to tell someone their style of wrestling is wrong? I had the type of stuff that I enjoyed watching. I can appreciate lucha [libre], for example, but it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I like the wild matches and these guys have taken that torch that Funk and I lit, and ran a couple of laps on their own with it.”

While Gage has expressed interest in going back to AEW it is yet to be seen if and when that will happen, but the chance that we see a Match between Moxley and Gage in an AEW is highly possible.
