WWE Going With Vince McMahon’s Edgier Product For NXT 2.0

It seems that WWE is going in the direction that Vince Mcmahon saw for the new NXT 2.0. yesterday we reported that Vince had thrown out ideas for a more mature and edgier product for the revamped brand, and it was reported that USA Network execs, were on board with the idea. Well if anything can be taken from last night’s episode of NXT2.0 it looks like they are heading in that edgier route.

According to a follow-up report from Fightful Select, the “overhaul” of NXT 2.0 is ongoing. This will “extend beyond the visual” aspect as well. It was noted that signs were already dropped this week that they “loosened” restrictions on language.

They have also become more receptive to character points that deal with alcohol as we saw in the Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen bar fight segment.

The language on the program is already being loosened, as highlighted with some of the colorful language on Tuesday’s program. We’ve been told that even character points like that of Josh Briggs were shot down in the past to refrain from bar or alcohol imagery

With how good AEW has been doing in the 18-49 demographic this more loose and mature content looks to bring in the same demo but only time will tell if this change will make a difference.
