CM Punk is not one to hold his tongue. The AEW star has made it known that when he speaks on an issue you can be assured you will get his opinion and he will not hold back.
While promoting AEW Grand Slam, CM Punk made no attempt to hide his shade of Hulk Hogan. While talking to “Rasslin with Brandon F. Walker,” the Second City Savior said that Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin were some of the biggest draws in pro wrestling. Then he also admitted that Hogan was probably the bigger draw over The Texas Rattlesnake before slinging some serious shade at the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.
“Hulk Hogan is a bigger star than Steve Austin but then you look at business periods and eras and box office receipts and all that other stuff. I think Hogan’s a piece of sh*t so obviously, I’m gonna be like Steve Austin, yay. But that’s another podcast.”
While it is true that Hogan still has many fans in the wrestling world, over the past few years the now-retired superstar has drawn a lot of criticism for phone calls that were leaked, which caught the wrestling legend using racial slurs.
We will see CM Punk take on Team Taz Member “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs on this week’s episode of AEW Rampage. It will be his first match on TV in over 7 years.
