Edge Expected To Miss Months Of WWE Television

At SmackDown held at Madison Square Garden Edge and Seth Rollins faced off for a rematch following their Summerslam showdown. During the match, Rollins curb-stomped the ‘Rated R Superstar’ causing Edge to be stretchered out of the ring. it’s looking like Edge will be out for an extended amount of time.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Edge’s injury angle was done as a way to write him off television. It is expected that Edge will miss “a few months” of in-ring action.

Edge went out on a stretcher and was taken away in an ambulance. This will explain Edge not being around for a few months. Since Edge only works part-time it is easy to do injury angles to explain his being gone but there’s also a limit on how many you can do before it feels like you’ve seen it before.

Since making his return to WWE in the 2020 Royal Rumble Edge has reinserted himself as one of the top stars in the company. He has headlined WrestleMania and has had some high-profile feuds, so we will have to see how long he will be gone and how he’s reintroduced when he decides to get back in the ring.
