Networks Pressuring WWE To Book RAW And SmackDown Evenly

Many fans would agree that Raw has been a lackluster show for the most part of the past few years and Smackdown has seen a run as the A show. As of the past Raw, it looks like things for the red brand might be changing as we saw a huge title change as Big E secured the WWE Championship from Bobby Lashley. The plans for this title change were reportedly made during Smackdown in Madison Square Garden because WWE wanted a big show on Monday. This also might be because of the urging of WWE partnered networks.

During the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Andrew Zarian noted that he was told by people at WWE’s network partners that they want the shows to be treated evenly. This means if SmackDown gets a big show then Raw is likely to receive one a short time later.

“From speaking a lot of my friends at the networks, they’re alluding that when you see something big happen on one, expect something big to happen on the other. Maybe not the following week, but they have to treat them weekly, that’s true.”

WWE books their card to counter other formers of entertainment but they are also required to make their partners happy. Do you think with this urging that the WWE as a whole will become a better brand or will WWE stick to the same old same old?
