Andrew Yang Urges Former And Current WWE SuperStars To Contact Union Side Labor Attorney If The Have Felt Misclassified

The misclassification of independent contractors is nothing new when it comes to WWE as this has been an ongoing issue for years. Unionizing has been a topic of issue that many wrestlers have mentioned in the past but nothing has come to fruition due to the fact that it would take major backing to challenge the machine of the WWE and its captain at the helm Vince McMahon.

Things could be changing soon as wrestlers who classify themselves as independent are having a big voice in the political world speak up for them.

Former presidential candidate Andrew yang has previously made his voice heard on this issue going as far as calling the WWE “fucking greedy” for their stance and highlighted that talent is classified as independent contractors.

Following Zelina Vega’s release from the company in November 2020 and her tweet supporting unionization, Yang ramped up his efforts with SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris also getting involved.

Things since have died down a little but now it seems that Yang is back on the issue and is motivated more than ever to get the ball rolling and finally get something done. Today Yang took to Twitter to call on all current and former WWE stars who feel they were misclassified as an independent contractor.

Had a call with the Department of Labor. If you are a current or former @WWE performer who feels you were misclassified as an independent contractor contact @lkmiddleb and let’s get you what Vince owes you. Been a long time coming but this storyline is real.

While it is uncertain if anything will come of this, this is by far the biggest backing and support that wrestlers have had up to this point, so we will have to see how things proceed.
