A few weeks ago it was reported that WWE was so set on signing Gable Steveson that Vince McMahon personally contacted the Olympic gold medalist. Well, whatever McMahon said worked as earlier this week Steveson took to Twitter to announce he had put pen to paper. Today the WWE confined and also announced that his contract is one of a kind.
The company sent out a press release to confirm the signing and announce that Steveson will still be competing for his college wrestling team while under contract with the company.
WWE today announced it has signed Olympic gold medalist and reigning NCAA wrestling champion Gable Steveson to an exclusive agreement.
In the company’s first-ever NIL deal, Steveson will join the WWE roster while defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota.
Steveson had interest from many other entities including the UFC and even NFL teams, but now he is official with the WWE.
