It seems like WWE wanted to get into the comeback game this weekend as well. After 15 months away, The Man herself – Becky Lynch – made a highly sought-after return to the squared circle last night.
Lynch replaced Sasha Banks in the Smackdown Women’s Championship Match at Summerslam. The Man defeated the EST, Bianca Belair, to win the title. The match lasted under 30 seconds and saw a thunderous punch from Lynch to Belair, followed quickly by the Manhandle Slam to win the title for Becky.
It was Becky’s first appearance since May of 2020 when she announced she was pregnant with her first child and would be taking a break from professional wrestling.
Becky Lynch, born Rebecca Quin, and fellow WWE Star Seth Rollins, born Colby Lopez, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Roux, last December. The couple married in June of this past year. The same month that saw Becky training at the WWE Performance Center.
Many fans were left displeased at the quick nature in which Belair lost the title. Fans compared her quick loss to the Kofi Kingston WWE Title loss at the hands of Brock Lesnar, which also took place at Summerslam.
Are you excited that The Man is back? Do you think she should’ve beaten Belair so effortlessly? As always Bodyslam.net will have any more information on this story as it becomes available, so keep refreshing!
