This past week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was an eventful one. The show saw everything from the debut of Chavo Guerrero to a New Japan Pro Wrestling championship changing hands on an AEW show, but the most shocking bit of news may have been a match that was booked for next week. We’re of course talking about the ‘No Rules Match’ between “The Pain maker” Chris Jericho and the GCW World Champion Nick Gage.
Gage has been linked to AEW’s Jon Moxley since WrestleMania weekend, so fans have been cautiously optimistic that the controversial star would eventually step foot in an AEW ring.
Nick Gage recently cut a scathing promo on the former AEW World Champion during one of his cameos:
“I don’t give a F*** what his name is. It could be Chris Jericho, it could be Pain Maker, Pace Maker, or whatever. I’m gonna go in that ring, and I’m gonna leave that ring with my weapon in my motherf****** hand with blood dripping off of it. Cause I’d rather die in that ring than to lose to that motherf*****”(Please credit Bodyslam.Net when using these transcriptions)
It sounds as if the deathmatch icon won’t be pulling any punches in his AEW debut, but there is a ton riding on this match for Jericho as well. The Demo God will have to defeat Gage next week, along with two others, as a part of his “5 Labours of Jericho” to earn a match against MJF.
Gage & Jericho square off in a ‘No Rules Match’ this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.
