Exclusive: When Did AEW And Daniel Bryan Begin Negotiations

On Wednesday night we exclusively reported that former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan is “locked in” and has already signed a deal with AEW.

We also reported that as of Wednesday afternoon the tentative plan in place was for Daniel Bryan to make his AEW debut at the upcoming Arthur Ashe Stadium episode of Dynamite in New York City. Additionally, our report stated that Bryan had asked for less dates and comparable money, to be able to work in Japan, and for creative input, all of which he got.

In an update as to when exactly negotiations began and a deal was struck between Bryan and AEW, I was told that internally it was first discussed to bring him in back in May following his contract expiring with WWE. However no discussion or negotiations were happening at that time, it was purely conjecture then. Talks and negotiations between the two sides did not actually begin until sometime over the last couple of weeks.

I was not given any specific details regarding the length or amount of Daniel Bryan’s AEW contract.

I will keep you updated when we hear more about Daniel Bryan and his signing and debut with AEW.
