Chavo Guerrero Was Not Originally The Plan For Andrade El Idolo’s Manager

On last night’s AEW Fyter Fest Night 2 episode of Dynamite, Chavo Guerrero made his debut when he was introduced as Andade El Idolo’s new executive consultant. However, it sounds like Chavo wasn’t the original managed slated for Andrade, as plans apparently changed.

Chavo’s debut was discussed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, and Dave Meltzer states that Tony Khan’s originally plan for Andrade saw Vickie Guerrero working as his manager. However, the switch up seems to allude to there being some complaints which might have caused the original plans to change.

“I guess sometimes when you complain a lot things happen. [Chavo] was not the surprise, this was a change. Tony Khan made a change from Vickie Guerrero to a new manager, and the new manager is Chavo Guerrero. So, that was not the original plan. The original plan was Vickie Guerrero.”

It was Vickie Guerrero who first introduced Andrade El Idolo in AEW, but she did not accompany him to the ring this week. Instead, she was only featured as Nyla Rose’s manager for her match against Britt Baker. It looks like the change to Chavo Guerrero over Vickie is permanent, and will his manager going forward.
