WWE Reportedly Releases NXT Referee Drake Wuertz

WWE has appeared to have released NXT Referee Drake Wuertz.

According to a report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, WWE released NXT Referee Drake Wuertz from the company earlier today. Wuertz had been gaining a lot of heat backstage over the last year, and was said to be the subject of a “growing concern” within the company.

“Word among talent and staff at the WWE Performance Center is that referee Drake Wuertz has been let go. I’ve reached out to WWE for a confirmation on this, and clarity on the situation.”

Wuertz has drawn a lot of heat online from fans, and apparently backstage, over the last year for his stance and comments on a lot of issues, like his beliefs on COVID-19, masks, abortion, QAnon, and his parlor account, just to name a few.

The release of Drake Wuertz isn’t the only one the company has made today. Keep checking back with us here at Bodyslam.net for more news on today’s WWE cuts as they continue to roll out.
