This Wednesday, Orange Cassidy ( the #1 ranked wrestler) and PAC ( #2) will face one another to determine Kenny Omega’s opponent for Double or Nothing III.
PAC and Orange Cassidy have good cases why they should face Omega for the AEW World title at AEW’s next PPV. The question is, who will face Omega?
Orange Cassidy is one of the most popular wrestlers on the AEW roster. You can see all over social media fans posting pictures dressed like. Orange Cassidy is also one of AEW’s best merch sellers.
Orange Cassidy has yet to lose a singles match in 2021 and he has been protected for quite some time.
Kenny Omega vs. Orange Cassidy could be an interesting match up and it could be a match that could draw a good number of PPV buys. The match was teased on last week’s episode of Dynamite and social media was buzzing with the idea of Omega and Cassidy clashing.
Momentum is on Orange Cassidy’s favor and striking when the iron is hot is would be the smart choice. It would also be a fresh match-up for Omega.
Business and wrestling wise, this match makes all the sense in the world and it would be an interesting match to watch when it takes place.
PAC is one of the few wrestlers in the AEW roster that has beaten Kenny Omega clean on an AEW ring, with the others being Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.
PAC and Omega last year had some of the best TV matches I’ve ever seen and another match involving two of the best wrestlers in the world would be awesome. Momentum unfortunately is not on his favor and that doesn’t help his case, although AEW still has plenty of time to put some momentum on PAC before DoN.
At the end of the day, it seems like Orange Cassidy is going to be the one to challenge Omega at DoN and it makes all the sense in the world. He has the momentum and he’s very popular right now. Omega and Cassidy has been a match saved for the right opportunity and with DoN being the first PPV to have fans back in full capacity, it makes sense for Cassidy to challenge Omega.
