Kurt Angle Shoots Down Idea Of Signing With AEW

Kurt Angle has been openly vocal about how he had hoped for a different end to his pro wrestling career. However, don’t expect him to end up in All Elite Wrestling.

Angle was released during last year’s COVID-19 cuts the WWE made and spoke about the idea of heading to AEW with Hannibal TV. Angle then revealed AEW contacted him, but he has no interest heading there because of his loyalty to the WWE. He also revealed he and the WWE have plans for something, but can’t disclose them at this time.

“Well, my relationship with WWE is really good and I like to keep it that way. I don’t have any plans of going to AEW. I haven’t really spoke to them that much. Just a couple messages sent back and forth but nothing serious. I have something going on with WWE right now and it most likely will materialize. I can’t talk about it but that’s what I’m waiting on and I don’t wanna mess that up. The company’s been so good to me and I wanna be loyal to them.”

Angle has turned down a couple of offers creatively from the WWE, namely being the special guest referee for the first Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher and then to manage Riddle on the main roster. That doesn’t mean he’s completely done with the WWE it seems, but we’ll have to wait and see his next move.
