Backstage News On Mace And T-Bar Following Raw

In the wake of WrestleMania, a surprise push seems to have been given to the former Retribution members Mace and T-Bar. Not only were they used to attack Drew McIntyre on the Raw after WrestleMania. The two even continued to look strong on this week’s Raw, despite being unmasked by McIntyre and Braun Strowman.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about how the end result of the matches involving them (originally a DQ finish to give McIntyre a win before a DQ win in their favor when Strowman was added to make it a tag match) left them with with their heads held high. It’s a good sign for the angle continuing and potentially a renewed push for the duo.

“They’re actually going to try something with Mace and T-Bar. They put them in there with McIntyre and Strowman and they got DQ’ed, actually McIntyre got DQ’ed, but they had a DQ finish other than a pin. So, that tells you that they’re gonna keep that thing going and they’re positioning them, you know I guess McIntyre and Strowman are the two top babyface in the brand, so they’re positioning them high [on the card].”

The two got unmasked during Raw, which leads to believe we may even see a gimmick change for them going forward. Whatever the case is, T-Bar and Mace seem to have found renewed life for them on Raw. That could even be a good sign for the other former Retribution members, who found themselves moved to SmackDown.
