WWE’s Reason For Determining Who Would Be Released

WWE trimmed their roster down by ten last week, and while some seemed about right for release, others had left fans scratching their head.

While we heard specifically why in the case of Billie Kay, in Kevin Dunn not “getting” her, the remaining Superstars were released for the same reason – creative had nothing for them.

Dave Meltzer talked about this on Wrestling Observer Radio, where he said “The idea was to get rid of people they weren’t using.” Most of those names hadn’t been on television in some time, minus Samoa Joe and Billie Kay. Peyton Royce was on Raw Talk before WrestleMania, cutting a passionate promo, but that didn’t save her from the chopping block. It was also revealed Samoa Joe hadn’t been cleared for an in-ring return yet, despite being used just days before at WrestleMania for commentary.

While there was strong rumors there would be cuts made in NXT a few days ago, none surfaced. While that doesn’t mean they won’t happen soon, many people will be on edge for a while until something is announced.
