News On Behind The Scenes Issues During The WrestleMania Rain Delay

Last night at night one of WrestleMania 37 featured never before seen in the history of the show weather delay. The 30+ minute rain delay caused by lightning in the area was one of two delays it seemed for the show, which turned out to be a major issue for the WWE.

Ringside News has reported that while Vince McMahon was prepared for a rain delay and knew weather like this would be possible and had a game plan, but apparently the flow of information created an issue for the company.

They spoke with a tenured member of the creative team who revealed that Bruce Prichard was responsible for carrying out the orders Vince had plan but did not effectively communicate the plan to all parties with the creative team not being told. When it came time for the delay, it seemed like only Kevin Dunn was ready because he got his information from McMahon. John Laurinaitis had talent ready for the show so “there was a scramble for backstage interviews.”

The site was told things were a bit crazy, “but not as bad as one would think.” Eventually, the show kicked off but it seemed like creative was left in the dust when it came to information that they probably should have known well in advance.
