Main Event Of Night One Of NXT TakeOver Had To Be Trimmed For Time

Last night’s NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver dropped some amazing action on fans and it was only night one. The main event was a critically acclaimed match between Io Shirai and Raquel Gonzalez, but apparently the two had more planned.

Fightful Select has reported a match ran long earlier in the evening that forced them to cut time from the main event. While it wasn’t noted which match went over time, it wound up being a problem this once. The reason stated for the issue is was due to the fact the show had to be packed into the time slot allotted by the USA Network. Usually, the company doesn’t take issue with these, but obviously circumstances were different.

Raquel Gonzalez won the title and the finish wasn’t changed nor was her celebration, but it seems Shirai and Gonzalez had some ideas left on the table.
