Io Shirai may have lost her NXT Women’s Title last night at TakeOver, but she’s got her eyes set on crashing WrestleMania.
Sports Illustrated interviewed Shirai before the match and she was asked who she’d love to face if she retained the title against Raquel Gonzalez, and her answer was Bayley. She even added she’d love to make that match happen at WrestleMania.
“I would love to compete against Bayley. “I have a great amount of respect for her. If we ever got the chance, I would like it to be on a huge stage like WrestleMania. As far as that happening at WrestleMania 37, I have not been told that yet—but never say never.”
Bayley has yet to be booked for WrestleMania, but Friday’s SmackDown could remedy that situation. For now, Io can rest and recover from a difficult loss.
