AEW Has Year High Viewership As NXT Viewership Falls

In what seems to be one of the last few weeks AEW and NXT will be going head to head, both shows had built up heavy hype. The Women’s Tag Team Titles were defended on NXT while AEW promised a packed show that included the debut of Paul Wight and the long awaited tag match between Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet against Shaq and Jade Cargill. How did the ratings go?

Showbuzz Daily has reported AEW Dynamite had a year high 934,000 viewers with NXT having 692,000 viewers. While this was an obvious jump for Dynamite from last week’s 831,000 viewers, NXT dropped from last week’s 734,000 viewers. AEW also won the demographic race as AEW scored a .33 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with NXT getting a .20. AEW ranked as the 6th most watched show on primetime cable last night, with NXT making it to 19th.

The ratings remain fluxuating, especially on a night that features the NBA on ESPN and other popular prime time shows, but AEW continues to remain in the lead and looks to have secured its place on Wednesday nights. The ratings will be interesting to see once NXT makes its move to Tuesdays, and more eyes can watch both shows.
