Shaq is finally stepping into the ring this week on tonight’s AEW Dynamite and Shaq has done a lot to hype up the match. The former NBA star has hyped up tonight’s match as being the best match involving a celebrity in pro wrestling history, leading to an interesting exchange with Pat McAfee.
The former NFL punter took to Twitter to drop his two cents about the match, which people not only took notice, but it left people debating McAfee’s status as a celebrity. However, his jab at Shaq took someone by surprise in AEW, namely Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes was the guest on a media call to hype up tonight’s AEW Dynamite known as The Crossroads before their AEW Revolution pay per view and revealed that he was surprised at McAfee’s comments. The EVP of AEW than revealed that McAfee has been trying to get a job with AEW.
Miro and McAfee recently got into an exchange over the definition of a celebrity recently, but this is a big surprise considering McAfee’s close relationship with the WWE, especially the NXT brand.
