Independent Show Called Out For Heavy Involvement Of Joey Ryan And Controversial Charity

A charity pro wrestling event has come into question, as many people have pointed out a very controversial name booked on the show.

An account called Wrestling For Women’s Charity on Twitter is promoting an event on March 20th that features names from across the indpendent scene like Erick Redbeard, Gangrel, 2 Cold Scorpio, and others. Fans pointed out one of the wrestlers on the poster is Joey Ryan, who has been dealing with the fallout of accusations over the Speaking Out movement. Fans quickly called out the promotion for featuring Ryan on the poster, especially after the accusations.

Tony Khan was quick to denounce the claims as several AEW talents were booked for the show, saying he would pull his talent if Joey Ryan was involved. A fan later did some digging to reveal the people behind the show are the owners of Bar Wrestling, Joey Ryan’s old promotion.

More importantly, the charity involved in the promotion is run by is Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer, a controversial figure in the religious community for her extravagent lifestyle. Many have accused her ministry and her charities to help fund her lavish lifestyle.

As this has all broken in the last few moments, wrestler MV Young who is on the poster, already has announced he is pulling from the show and revealed he was misled about the purpose of the show and who was on it.

Since being posted only hours ago, many fans have already gone out of their way to poke holes into the show, and some have called out the group organizing the show for not informing talent they would be involved on a show with Ryan, as many would not have worked the show had they known he was involved. This is a developing story and we will report on it as we learn more.
