New Details On Impact Wrestling’s Plans For Sammy Guevara Paint Clearest Picture Yet

The picture of what Sammy Guevara was supposed to do with Impact Wrestling before eventually dropping all plans have slowly become clearer in the days since Guevara turned down creative plans and now it seems the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has the clearest picture yet of what he was supposed to do.

Their report states that Guevara was scheduled to lose a triple threat match involving Ace Austin and Chris Bey which would have turned into a beatdown. Following that, he would have then won the final match he was scheduled for before getting another post match beatdown which he wouldn’t have ever managed to get revenge for.

With reports that Black Taurus was replacing Guevara in many of the plans they had for him, this past week’s show suggests Guevara would have teamed with Bey and Austin against Trey Miguel, Willie Mack, and Josh Alexander, and then he would have failed to get an X-Division Title shot losing the three-way involving Bey and Austin.

Guevara pitched to have won the X-Division Title and then return to AEW but he wound up getting his idea turned down.
