Bailey Matthews, the real life son of NXT’s general manager, made his Debut on NXT UK last night as he squared off against former NXT UK champion Tyler Bate in a loosing effort.
Matthews may have come up short in the match but I’m sure he made his father proud, dominating Tyler Bate for much of the match just like his father did to Goldberg in WCW, although this was much more reminiscent of John Cena’s debut match against Kurt Angle.
Matthews put on great display of technical wrestling which is exactly what you would expect from some one who has trained with the best trainers in the UK, including British Wrestling legend Dave Taylor.
Matthews also spent time in the LA dojo system along side fellow second generation British star David Finlay, it was first reported that Matthews had singed with NXT UK by Gary Cassidy of Inside the Ropes on the 29th of January 2021.
