Samoa Joe Gives Update On His Status, Says There’s No Timetable On His Return

It’s been over a year since Samoa Joe has seen action inside a WWE ring. Since then, the Samoan Submission Machine has found himself a highlight in the Raw commentary booth. Obviously, fans would love to see the former two-time United States Champion back in action but when would that be?

Joe talked to Sportskeeda and revealed that while there’s no timetable on his return to action, but he did reveal that everyone is doing whatever it takes to make sure he’s in safe hands and working on his recovery.

“As far as the timetable, no. But I just want to reassure people that you know this point, WWE medical is doing the best for my health and my well-being, and I’m appreciative of it, so we’re taking our time. We’re making sure that I’m as healthy as I can be. And we are… Yeah, I think that’s essentially it, you know, I’m not putting a timetable on it because the type of injury is not something that I want to rush, obviously, for obvious reasons. So, yeah, I mean, that’s essentially the update,” said Joe. “I mean, and obviously, too, there’s been some holdups from a technical standpoint with the pandemic going on and availability of medical personnel, but for the most part, we’re taking a careful, measured approach, and though I don’t think my in-ring career is over by a longshot I’m appreciative of the recovery time. And that my health is being respected at a premium.”

Joe suffered a concussion during a commercial shoot back in February of last year, though he also missed time for violating the WWE’s wellness policy. It was only his first strike, so it was only a 30 day suspension. Fans would love to see Joe back, especially with a lack of depth of main event stars in the WWE, so hopefully 2021 will see the return of the former ROH Champion.
