Hiromu Takahashi Facing Six Months On The Sidelines With Torn Pectoral

One of the hottest and top stars in New Japan Pro Wrestling has had his momentum derailed.

NJPW announced Hiromu Takahashi has a torn pectoral muscle and is going to be out of action for what is estimated to be six months. It seems he suffered the injury on February 19th when he and Shingo Takagi took on Kota Ibushi & Tomoaki Honma, causing him to be pulled from the following day’s show.

Takahashi is the reigning IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion and was scheduled to face Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo with his partner BUSHI for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles on the February 24th Road to Castle Attack show, followed up with the February 28th Castle Attack show having him defend the title against El Phantasmo.

A possible replacement match was put in the works when El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru attacked Phantasmo and Ishimori, but the match has yet to be made official.
