AEW Sees Viewership Rise As It Defeats NXT In Ratings

AEW kicked off their Beach Break shows while NXT continued to build toward TakeOver: Vengeance Day on their respective shows this week. Last week AEW barely took home the victory in the ratings war, but how did it turn out this week?

Showbuzz Daily reports AEW Dynamite pulled in an impressive 844,000 viewers to NXT’s 610,000. AEW also nearly doubled NXT in the 18-49 demographic with its .32 to NXT’s .15 in the same demo.

What can’t be understated is AEW ranked #3 on the night in cable television shows while NXT just missed the top 50, coming in at 51.

This is an improvement from last week for AEW who had 734,000 while NXT dropped from the previous week’s 720,000. AEW’s rating is also more in line from the week before that which drew 854,000 but it’s still a drop for NXT which drew 659,000 viewers.

AEW continues to load shows for the month with February after announcing a massive tag team match for next week’s Dynamite, while NXT has promised the Men’s and Women’s Dusty Classic semifinal matches, along with a return for Cameron Grimes.
