Internal Reaction To WWE Network Moving To Peacock

The big news of the day is the WWE moving the WWE Network streaming service onto Peacock’s. The company will be merging its service with NBC Universal’s Peacock service, allowing customers to stream the WWE content along with the same place they can find The Office, Law & Order, and select matches of the English Premier League.

Internally, this is a big win to some people, while others don’t know what to make of it. Fightful Select has reported talent didn’t hear about this until it broke this morning. There’s optimism that WWE Network merging with Peacock will put more eyes on the product.

However, a “top name in the company” seems to have a “pessimistic approach” to the merger. Then again, it seems like it doesn’t matter to them as long as it doesn’t change their pay.

Another top name in the company took a more pessimistic approach and said they didn’t care where they were distributed unless it affects their pay. Still, no negativity emerged from that conversation as they confirmed it was a big move for WWE.

The move will be worth $1 billion over the next five years, and it means the end of the WWE Network as we know it in the United States. All other countries will be able to continue on as normal.
