Daniel Bryan No Longer Believes NXT Is A “Developmental Territory”

The journey of NXT has been a long one. From its beginning as a show that was part pro wrestling and part reality television to at one point being considered the development brand of the company, NXT is now considered by most fans the third brand of the WWE. With a style and flavor all its own, NXT has stood out enough that some people often consider it the best brand the company has. However, some people still see NXT as the development camp of the WWE though one major WWE star feels it’s taken an identity of its own.

Daniel Bryan spoke about this to Lucha Libre Online, where he feels that while NXT isn’t the developmental territory of the WWE anymore, it does leave them needing a new one because of this.

I definitely don’t think NXT is considered as a developmental territory anymore. Which leaves a question: Do we have a developmental territory? Because we need one to develop talent if NXT is not our development, which it isn’t. Those guys are awesome and I do consider NXT a third brand for our company.”

NXT in its current iteration is due to the work of Triple H. His vision for NXT has not only helped make the brand what it is today, but made it viable enough to be competition to go head to head with AEW on Wednesday nights. You can watch a clip of the interview with Bryan below.
