Peyton Royce was seeing a lot of screen time earlier this year as a member of the IIconics. Royce and Billie Kay were one of the company’s most popular acts until one day, they weren’t.
While Royce and Kay never regained the Women’s Tag Team Titles after losing them in August of 2019, Paul Heyman seemed to utilize them heavily while he was Executive Director of Raw. So much to the point where even Vince McMahon began to recognize that Royce had potential. She was rumored for a singles push, which people thought was imminent when the duo shockingly split up due to an angle where after a loss to the Riott Squad, they would never be allowed to team up again. While the duo split amicably, the push never happened even after Kay was drafted to SmackDown in the WWE Draft.
Royce hasn’t been quiet about her frustration over the last few months of her WWE career. Whether it was frustration over the split up of her tag team with a life long best friend, or her current booking situation, Royce took to Twitter to say all she wants is to be able to compete.
All I wanna do is what I do well
Royce is clearly frustrated as are several talents in the WWE. With many people frustrated over booking in and out of the company, we can only hope Royce eventually gets her chance to shine.
